Here we have a photo gallery of some of the new crosses we have bloomed out from out hybridizing in the last two years. To see a larger image, click on the small photo.

This is a seedling from the selfing of Cym Baltic Honey 'Solana Beach'. The flower is about 4 inches across with very little sunstaining on a very compact plant blooming in November when grown outdoors. |
This is one of the first plants to flower from the cross between Dorothy Rowe and Candy Floss. The flower is about 5 inches across and bloomed in March. |
This is an intense golden yellow pure color seedling from the Dawn Beauty (Sleeping Beauty x Sleeping Dawn) cross. The flower is about 5 inches across on a good upright spike blooming in March. |
This is one of the most compact plants in the Dotz (Arts x Splatters) cross, with foliage about 12 inches tall and an arching spike to match. The flower is about 2 inches across and bloomed in March. |
This is a large 14 cm bright white flower from the cross of (Hazel Tyers 'Santa Maria' x Woody Wilson 'Ann'). It blooms with good spacing and arrangement with up to 14 flowers on a tall spike in mid February. |
This is the best formed flower we have seen in the Kauai (Sleeping Dawn x Golden Elf) cross. The flower is about 7 cm across on a relatively compact plant for the cross. It is also the latest blooming of the cross, opening in mid January compared with the typical September-October normal blooming season for the cross. |

This is another well formed flower from the Kauai (Sleeping Dawn x Golden Elf) cross. The flower is about 8 cm across and blooms in September-October. |
This cross of Lee Teakell (Lambert Day x devonianum) had only 17 plants to germinate from the pod. It is named for my friend who provided the pollen from devonianum 'Anteak' to make the cross. This plant had a nicely pendant spike and received an AM/AOS and S/CSA on the first blooming. The flower is about 5 cm across and bloomed in April. |

This is another plant of the 17 from the cross of Lee Teakell (Lambert Day x devonianum). This plant had a very strong pendant spike with 25 flowers and the 5 cm flower has extremely heavy substance. The plant is unusual in that it shows no evidence of the normal devonianum leaf tip burn at all, even with our 700 ppm water. |
The cultivar 'Jade' is the only plant I kept from the Limerick (Len Southward x Dag) cross. This plant had a nice arching to pendant spike and the 6 cm flower has heavy substance. The plant has a HCC/AOS and B/CSA. |

Cym. Lotza Spotz (Splatters x Piņata) has been a very good spotted cross with more than 50% of the plants showing some spotting. The cultivar 'Miki' is one of the best, and seems to be free blooming and quite fertile, unlike many diploid spotted cymbidiums. |
Cym. Louise Hay (Lemon Butter x Comanche) is a nice light to medium yellow cross, and the cultivar 'Nancy' is the best we have seen so far. This plant had two nice upright spikes with 28 flowers on one bulb and the 11.5 cm flower has heavy substance. |
Cym. Piņata (Tethys x Khyber Pass) is one of the original spotted hybrids, and several sibling crosses have been made to improve the spots. The first bloom cultivar 'Darth Vader' bloomed from one of these sibling crosses with 4 long upright spikes and 70 flowers more than 11 cm across. Unlike many of the other Cym. Piņata cultivars, it is also a fairly vigorous grower. |
Cym. Pixie Lace (Bangles x Piņata) is another diploid spotted cross with very few plants in the cross. The cultivar 'Freckles' is the best we have seen. This plant has nice upright spikes with up to 14 flowers on the spike and 10 cm flowers. |
Cym. Rebel Yell (Dorothy Rowe x Howlin' Coyote) has produced a number of large, well formed red flowers. None have been shown, but several such as this cultivar may be of award quality on larger plants. |
Cym. Ruby Lips (Dorothy Rowe x Bob Marlin) is another red cross that has produced several outstanding flowers. The cultivar 'Erika' received an AM/AOS and B/CSA as a first bloom seedling with 11 flowers on a good upright spike, and 11 cm flowers. |
Cym. Skukuza (Red Beauty x Solana Rose) is a pink cross with large, well formed pink flowers. The cultivar 'Nancy' received an AM/AOS B/CSA as a first bloom seedling with 14 large full 12 cm flowers on an upright spike. It appears to have some spotting under the top color as well, so it may be useful for spotted breeding. |
Cym. Skukuza 'Freckles' is a somewhat spotted cultivar from the cross. The 11 cm flowers are smaller than many of the cross, but the spotting makes it worth keeping for breeding. |
Cym. Solana Star 'Freckles' (Solana Rose x Woody Wilson) has an unusual pattern of spots on the petals and sepals. It has 13 large 13 cm flowers on an arching spike, and should be useful for spotted breeding. |
Cym. Yamanashi Fire 'Burgundy' (Lady Spring x Sensational Vintage) is another good red cross. The plant has 12 very dark 11 cm flowers on a strong multiple upright spikes, and should be a good addition to our red breeding program. |
